Support Home Posting

Fort Saskatchewan

Support Home must be a located in Fort Saskatchewan within 3 blocks of Fort Transit system bus stop.

We are looking for a Support Home for a 36-year-old young woman who requires moderate support.  She would like to live in a nonsmoking home that is close to a bus stop, so that she can get to and from her community job in Fort Saskatchewan.  She has not returned back to her community job placement due to the pandemic, but is waiting for a call back to work when the employer is ready.  Her typical work hours are with a start time in the afternoon and ending around 6pm.   If your home is not close to a bus stop and you are able to provide her with transportation at the end of her shift back home, then the support home would be considered.

She would like to live in a home where the support home providers are able to support her with her daily living skills.  She requires a home where she is motivated to participate in all aspects of daily living responsibilities.  She requires reminders and support to learn independent living skills and expand upon the ones in her repertoire.  This young woman is also a social butterfly.  She likes to participate in many different recreation outings, and she is always willing to try new ones with support.  She is able to be home alone for 8 hours independently.

She requires support for the diagnosis of non-verbal learning disorder, primary ADD, myotonic dystrophy, and renaud’s syndrome.  Support staff will need to be able to support and transport her to attend medical and specialist appointments.

The Support Home has access to 38 respite days per year.

Room and board, transportation  and a Support Home Provider fee is paid each month to the Support Home Provider through the Robin Hood Association.

The Support Home Provider is required to complete the requirements set out by the Robin Hood Association.

Please feel free to call if you are interested in this wonderful experience or to ask for additional information.
